Schultze...
My sister and I just came back from a movie night at a friend's house.
We rented a foreign film today which was called, are you ready for it,
"Schultze Gets the Blues" ...a German film!
The back of the cover said that it was a big German hit, and so we thought it would be a good way to brush up on our German speaking skills...with the luxury of english subtitles.
It was hard to brush up on our German skills when there was barely any speaking in the film.
It was 2 hours long...sehr lange. It probably would have been great if they cut out all the still shots that never ended...pretty long long long. (Maybe Germans are more patient than North Americans.)
As much as it was extremely long and at many moments not very exciting or even interesting, (except when you consider why they used the shots and angles that they did), I feel better about watching that, (with the exclusion of a few less than good lines) than I do about watching a crappy movie and feeling gross afterwards, or an unrealistic, super sappy, make-me-uncontent-with-my-life (or single status-because I am content otherwise) film. (And I usually feel the best not watching any movie at all to be honest.)
The Gnombs were a highlight.
A big hit in germany.
Goodnight.

"*note to self* don't rent that movie. Last night I needed an escape from my pathetic life so me and my roomate watched "Munich" and "Rumour Has It" and drank - a lot (well that was just me). Neither of the movies were particularly awesome. I'd not recommend them. Munich was good for historical/educational purposes at least. And the drinking thing didn't work cause even though I drank a lot quickly I stayed completely normal - I just wanted to find a happy place. Grrr. Oh and this is how you spell GNOMES! Haha! I think you always spell it wrong.LOL

Gnomes always make things so much better! Munich, I think, was a great movie. I wouldn't really consider it to be a drinking movie...it would definitely get confusing if you begin to get tipsy! I'm so glad you are posting again!

A big hit in Germany, my butt. It really truly sucked...
However, I was explaining the movie to someone the day after watching it and I started feeling sorry for the 'little' (ha) guy. Yes the content sucked, but now it's a part of who I am. Crazy.
Kara, my favorite part was the night shirt scene...and the gnome face washing scene...oh the highlights aren't so high :0
Love ya...still.
